THE BEST WAYS TO SOLVE THE CURRENT DILEMMA IN THE NBA

The best ways to solve the current labor issues in the NBA is for both sides to get together in a room and talk. It-s billionaire owners against millionaire players and in reality both sides need each other. The owners need the players to fill their arenas and to actually have a product and the players need the owners to pay their salaries. Both sides are far apart in what they are willing to concede but I see no reason why they should wait until the season is close to begin negotiations. What they need to do is get together now and start hammering out a plan so the fans aren-t left without professional basketball this season.

In these meetings player salaries need to be adjusted. Owners have to stop giving out these ridiculous, long term contracts to players who are undeserving. One bad contract can set a franchise back for years. They need lower dollar amounts and fewer years. The players need to get on board for this too because in the end it will make for a better product as a whole.

There are other issues that need to be addressed to such as minimum age for entry into the NBA, and how the league revenue will be split, but the one thing that is certain is that a lockout will no go over well with the fans.
